Highlights
The Wild West Throw Competition is the ultimate Wild West experience, recreating one of the most popular games that cowboys used to play, horseshoes! The game is simple: stick your two pegs securely into the ground, and begin throwing the red and blue rubber versions of horseshoes! The player that gets the most horseshoes to land on the pegs, wins! This is a safe, no metal version of the real thing, perfect for parties and outdoor play.
Information
Our SmartKidsPlanet initiative began in 2017 when 3 geeky and dedicated parents saw a gap in the children’s toys and games market. An opportunity was spotted while we struggled to find toys and games for our kids which enriched their minds and guided them toward science, art, math and construction. The trio then knew that their paths were set, establishing an online shop with a comprehensive range of intelligent toys for babies, children and young teenagers.
With offices based in California, our SmartKidsPlanet team enjoys a daily growth in our presence within the children’s educational toys market. We love our new place in life, and we love helping young minds with their growth and skill development, all while having as much fun as possible.
The horseshoes are heavy weight & decently made. The spikes are hollow thin plastic. The bases is also thin & flimsy but works. We use when traveling in our RV so we didn't want something heavy like original metal. Overall, it is great for the price and works ok for the times we want to play.
I would agree with one of the other reviewers that there was a strong "rubber smell," but it did soon dissipate. Also, if you purchase these, be sure to store them flat as the shoes will bend to match whatever surface they are sitting on. Any "bends" can be corrected but will take time. I compared these to the plastic type you can find in party stores and these are a much better set.
It's working perfectly! I live in New England, so our yard is basically rock, rock, grass, rock. Under the grass is more rock. So the only problem I had was finding a place in the ground to put the stakes into. The stakes are NOT STRONG at all, so you can't push too hard into the ground, which them causes them to be a bit loose when the horseshoe hits it. We quickly got past that issue though and just had a blast with this!
The bright colors make it easy to find the shoes in the grass. Not too heavy and not too light. The stake wasnt easy to get into our very hard rocky soil. But thats more on our yard than the product itself.
Likes: its a neat set of lawn games. The colors make it interesting. The spikes hold, the pads might save some of the yard and the shoes are balanced well.
