MiniBlox Cross Puzzle

We bought these for our 4yo son's birthday, he loved them (and do did we). I think this 300 piece is plenty to start with, we may bump up to the 600 piece set later, once his little brother is older (currently only 1). They are really tiny, so be very cautious where you play with them if you have younger kids. The package they come in is not great for permanent storage, we just used a tupperware container. They fit together easier than legos and have a nice range of colors. We played with them for at least an hour, great for adults and kids. Planning on bringing these on an 8 hour road trip and vacation soon!

We got this for my kid because he needed a distraction while we ate out and we didn't want to resort to a phone for screen time over and over again. We got put onto these from a friend and it was amazing how it distracted the kids for the entire meal! It comes in a lot of different colors and can be put assembled in a multitude of ways. My kid is only 2.5 so he just shoves it into his toy van and pickup truck (he only likes industrial, blue-collar type vehicles for some reason). Needless to say it doesn't fit into the toy Porsche that his uncle just got him. Haha.

These were a great find from the last holiday, so much so that they go with us everywhere now. We have a kid (9) who loves blocks, including building his own creations long after the original design has been dismantled. These are colorful, lightweight, easy to use, easy to pack... Literally hours of fun. I love that the company now does sets based on designs, but this simple box of mixed colors is perfect for the kid who's eager to dive right in. We bought more for this year, for the cousins, too, and even the big size for the toddler in the family. A winner!

We get a lot of enjoyment from building toys in general, but I didn't really have high hopes for these simple, identically shaped pieces. I definitely underestimated them. They are truly limitless and inspire building, design and creativity in a way that I think is VERY different from every other building toy on the market. They appeal to a huge age range and the finished builds are really cool, especially once you gain some understanding of how they connect. I would highly recommend this really unique toy.

I read a mom-blog about these being great to take to restaurants... ordered immediately.
I am a single mom to 3 preschool kids and watch 3 more preschool-aged kids during the week.
While we never go to eat at restaurants, I look for activities that allow me moments to do things like make supper, use the toilet, make a phone call (you know, normal activities of daily living that non-moms take for granted).
Within a short amount of time I know that I NEED more of these...the kids are cooperatively playing happily with these little soft plastic shapes, using their imaginations and leaving me alone (almost entirely, save for "mom! look at this!".
They ARE small, tho - so if you've got a curious one who might be inclined to put them in their mouths, go for the bigger sized ones for sure! I wouldn't leave the kids unattended with these JUST in case, but if you have an eye on them while they play, you may get to enjoy some quiet!
Oh, and bonus - these won't make you curse like a sailor when you find one with your bare foot in the dark, like "the other" building block mega giant that has theme parks named after it and begins with an L...
