Information
Our SmartKidsPlanet initiative began in 2017 when 3 geeky and dedicated parents saw a gap in the children’s toys and games market. An opportunity was spotted while we struggled to find toys and games for our kids which enriched their minds and guided them toward science, art, math and construction. The trio then knew that their paths were set, establishing an online shop with a comprehensive range of intelligent toys for babies, children and young teenagers.
With offices based in California, our SmartKidsPlanet team enjoys a daily growth in our presence within the children’s educational toys market. We love our new place in life, and we love helping young minds with their growth and skill development, all while having as much fun as possible.
My 6 year old son wanted to give my husband "a robot we can build together" for his birthday. So we looked at a bunch of different robot kits and decided on this one based on the reviews. They have been having a blast building together. My son is obsessed with Vernie! Also there are so many projects you can do with this set not to mention all the extra stuff you can do when you add in other sets. I highly recommend this toy!
I bought this for my 6 year old son for a Christmas gift. We have worked on it together almost every free night since then, and it is almost march! He loves this robot. The cost seems high until you start using it. It is very easy to learn. It has step by step building that you can access on a bluetooth enabled tablet or pc. It seems like it would be overwhelming, but it doesn't allow you to move on to more complex projects until you complete the previous step. I can't stress enough how great this toy is. I would say that it is a good idea to keep the parts to this robot separate from any other lego projects. We have a dedicated box for this. We also have discovered that it is a good idea to place the parts into containers with separate sections, like a tackle box. This makes looking for parts way faster. Enjoy!!! I know we have.
I cannot say enough about how much we love the LEGO Boost! My son loves robots and Legos and it seemed like the perfect marriage for a great Christmas present. We were right! Since Christmas, he has built and rebuilt all five of the optional builds, as well as several unofficial ones posted online by other Lego maniacs. The programming is really well done, with very easy to follow directions. The best part about this Lego set, is that it's not a dust collector. Some sets we have purchased were fun to put together but then aren't very play-friendly and so they sit on the shelf and that's it. Really, very happy with this purchase, one of the best Lego sets, if not the best one, we have ever purchased!
My grandson is 5 and really into Legos so after consulting with my engineer husband and son, I bought this and shipped it to him. From minute one, he was fully engaged and intrigued by this machine - and its capabilities. I always buy "up" whether it be books or toys. This will keep him engaged for a good while, as I've watched videos of him "figuring it out."
My son (6) with a little help from my daughter (5) were able to build Vernie in 3 days. My son now brings it everywhere to show all his friends. The build instructions were laid out well and the programming was pretty easy for my son to figure out. He is VERY proud of his build and it makes this purchase worth every penny for my wife and I.
