Highlights
The Woodland Critters Puzzle Set provides kids with three adorable forest creatures puzzles that are shaped just like the real animals rather than an ordinary rectangular shape seen in traditional puzzles. The three animals are beautifully painted and include a blue owl, an orange squirrel, and a white bear. Kids will begin constructing the puzzle by sorting the three different colors into three piles between orange, blue, and white. Then, it is time to bring the animals to life!
Information
Our SmartKidsPlanet initiative began in 2017 when 3 geeky and dedicated parents saw a gap in the children’s toys and games market. An opportunity was spotted while we struggled to find toys and games for our kids which enriched their minds and guided them toward science, art, math and construction. The trio then knew that their paths were set, establishing an online shop with a comprehensive range of intelligent toys for babies, children and young teenagers.

With offices based in Nevada, our SmartKidsPlanet team enjoys a daily growth in our presence within the children’s educational toys market. We love our new place in life, and we love helping young minds with their growth and skill development, all while having as much fun as possible.

This puzzle is a great next step for an early toddler to start transitioning from a simple knob figure puzzle to more complex jigsaw puzzles. I looked for something intermediate for my son who is turning two in a couple of months and has done a lot of knob puzzles but is too young for a real jigsaw. I didn't find many choices in this range, with this one being an exception. This puzzle is simple enough so that he already started to learn how to orient and connect pieces together - it certainly takes and improves hand coordination. At first we are helping him by separating pieces that belong to one figure, but I as he gets comfortable, I would mix e pieces and let him pick out the right ones from a larger pile.
I am very impressed by this puzzle. Something I did not realize before buying, was that a mini version of each animal comes with it so that your child has an actual piece of it completed rather than just going by a picture on the box. This is very helpful to a child in my opinion. She is still getting the hang of successfully connecting the pieces, but its only been a few days. She can however line them up where they would go. The quality of the pieces are very good as well. A hard cardboard with layers of laminate to make it extremely durable. The box itself too is not flimsy, so that should last as well.
The puzzle comes with a 3, 4, 5, and 6 piece puzzle. The 3 piece puzzle is the lion. The 4 piece puzzle is the zebra. The 5 piece puzzle is the elephant and the 6 piece puzzle is the giraffe. My 23 month old can do all of the peg puzzles so I got these to "challenge" her. She can do the 3 and 4 piece puzzle easily. She asks for help with the 5 and 6 piece puzzle.
Having miniatures of each puzzle is the best idea. I feel like it is easier than looking at a box for toddlers. The miniatures also double as baby animals for play. The box and the pieces are really sturdy. The increasing number of pieces in each puzzle is perfect for mastering the concept. This a cute introduction to jigsaw puzzles.
