Our SmartKidsPlanet initiative began in 2017 when 3 geeky and dedicated parents saw a gap in the children’s toys and games market. An opportunity was spotted while we struggled to find toys and games for our kids which enriched their minds and guided them toward science, art, math and construction. The trio then knew that their paths were set, establishing an online shop with a comprehensive range of intelligent toys for babies, children and young teenagers.

With offices based in California, our SmartKidsPlanet team enjoys a daily growth in our presence within the children’s educational toys market. We love our new place in life, and we love helping young minds with their growth and skill development, all while having as much fun as possible.

Purchased for a 20 month old great nephew and he loved it

Purchased for a 20 month old great nephew and he loved it. He was able to put the pieces together by himself and he understood the concept of making it all work together. He played with it no stop constantly rearranging the gears and turning the crank; even his older brother (8) paused a few minutes to play with it. Its a small kit and more tiles and gears would have been a bonus but for a starter pack it was perfect.

Great little stocking stuffer.....

Bought this for the grandchildren for Christmas. When we were little, we had one that wasn't nearly as fancy, but it still makes young minds THINK!
When I was in High School, it was mandatory to take an Air Force test prior to graduation. One section was all about gears, and thinking about which way each one would be turning. I aced the Air Force test......especially the mechanical part.....not too shabby for a *gurl* LOL! I want my grandchildren to do more creative, critical thinking. This is such a fun way to encourage it.
I have given these to others in the past, and the funny thing is, even grownups have a blast with them! They definitely encourage *quality* time.

So much fun!

I bought these for my 3 year old for Christmas this year and he LOVES them! Sometimes he'll get a little frustrated if he can't get the pegs in the holes quick enough or if he can't get one positioned close enough to turn with the others, but he does pretty well and I try to stay near enough to help if needed. I think its a good lesson in patience and trying not to get frustrated when something doesn't work the first time. I gave them to him while I was washing dishes a few days ago and he managed to put all of them together all by himself without ever getting frustrated or asking for help....and they all turned. I love that the pieces are sturdy and vibrant. They're easy to put together and interesting to make a new design each time.

Nifty

I bought two of these toys to mount on a board on the wall in my son's room, as both a toy and a decoration. This has made one big rectangle that work together. There are white pieces that fit on the backs of the gears that go into a plastic peg-board. These pieces are a little hard to get on, because they are white pegs going into a white board. We took a permanent marker and placed dots on the topside of each piece where the holes were to make lining it up a little easier. The disks slide on great and move great as long as your little one doesn't pull upward. The gears can be stacked one on top of each other. Because my son is young (under 2), we are just using the big disks and the two handles right now, which has simplified things. As he gets a little bigger we'll add the other disks and build more layers.

My son likes this toy (likes gears) and was quick to pick up on how to assemble them, but as a few weeks have gone by, it isn't his go to toy. He's still a little young for it. The colors are attractive and the disks are a good size. If your child still puts things in his/her mouth, the white pieces on the back could be a problem.

My 2.5 Year Old's Favorite Toy (Mine, Too!)

My 2 1/2 year old son absolutely loves this. I love that he can play with it by himself or we can work on building something together, too. Even I find it pretty mesmerizing, and fun to see how we can connect the different pieces and what works and doesn't work to get all the gears going.

He is very "mechanical" and determined to figure out how things work, he has a lot of patience for these kinds of things. That's why I knew it would be a great toy for him. It took him about a day to figure out how to put the pieces together by himself. It was frustrating for him at first, so this might not be the greatest toy for kids who aren't as interested in "engineering" or patient.

The white pegs that fit onto the back of the gears also seem pretty flimsy, as other reviewers stated, but it's been about a month and so far none have bent or broken. It would be nice if the company offered them for purchase as replacement pieces.
