My son loves this toy

I have such mixed feelings about this.When I looked at the info on , the videos, and the reviews, I thought the car had some kind of fly wheel to where slapping it gave all the power to go forward. Really, it has a battery that makes the wheels go. And it has lights. And it makes a sound when you slap it. Pretty much you push a button, and the battery makes it go. I wouldn't have gotten this if I'd known.The set comes with the car, and an obstacle course with several ramps and some plastic tires and some plastic oil cans for the car to knock over. It's just ramps and they don't connect to each other. So, it's not a track set that doesn't work with your other track. But, also it kind of is a track set that doesn't work with your other track.My two kids, just-turned-5 and about-to-turn-3, have enjoyed playing with this. They seem to want to make the car jump. (It doesn't jump and more like drives off the end of the ramp, and then goes two inches out while falling two inches down. Nothing dramatic.). They like stacking the tires to knock over.Like I said, I wouldn't have gotten it if I'd realized it was battery powered. It's a good quality set that seems it will hold up to lots of play, and my kids like it. But, also there are many similar toys, and I feel it's more plastic clutter it my life. Also, it stores big, and takes up a whole big plastic tub like you'd keep stuff in in a garage. This is not easy to tuck away or to store and rotate. Huge downer if you are a grandparent looking to store a toy between visits, or a.parent looking to be able to tuck it away.All parts seem big and we'll made, and it's safe for even a baby. I have no concerns about the boys playing with this around their 10 month old sister.

Got this as a gift for my 3 year old nephew. He loved it!

My girls can be very girly on the one hand. On the other hand, they do have the influence of their older brothers and their father so they really do like car and vehicle sets. The vehicle lights up and you push a button to make it go (it does take batteries). The girls really like this set and have a great time with the ramps and obstacles. With that being said, the ramps in no way connect to one another. Personally I don't think that is a drawback, but some children may find that frustrating. My girls actually like it, being able to set up the ramps in various ways to get the "coolest" tricks out of the set. It does take up quite a bit of space. It has its own bin in the playroom since it would take up way too much room in a toy chest. The pieces seem pretty durable and I'm not worried about them holding up to the girls' abuse. Overall it's a great set for imaginative play.
