Highlights
Shamus the Stegosaurus is here to teach your children how to count! With his multicolored and numbered spines, children will learn how to count in such a fun and textured way. This will boost their fine motor skills and hand strength as they enter the world of basic math. This is one of the easiest and most straightforward ways to highlight counting skills for young children. Dinosaurs are incredible, which is why we incorporated them for math toys.
Information
Our SmartKidsPlanet initiative began in 2017 when 3 geeky and dedicated parents saw a gap in the children’s toys and games market. An opportunity was spotted while we struggled to find toys and games for our kids which enriched their minds and guided them toward science, art, math and construction. The trio then knew that their paths were set, establishing an online shop with a comprehensive range of intelligent toys for babies, children and young teenagers.
With offices based in California, our SmartKidsPlanet team enjoys a daily growth in our presence within the children’s educational toys market. We love our new place in life, and we love helping young minds with their growth and skill development, all while having as much fun as possible.
My dino-loving son adores this toy! He loves putting Steggy together over and over again. His occupational therapist also loves how engaging this toy is as they work on fine motor skills. There is a ton you can do with this toy - teaching numbers, colors and counting. All of the spikes store in the back of Steggy, which makes it really easy to keep all of the pieces together. The plastic is colorful and durable and so easy to clean!
Oh my! The colors, the feel and design is even more adorable in person. I am impressed at the durable feel of the spike numbers. Dino has a door to hold the numbers in and it closes easy and stays close so pieces won't fall out. The colors are so bright and fun. Very engaging so far!
I bought this for my boys after our dogs got ahold of the porcupine one and broke all the spikes. My boys love dinosaurs and I love that there’s an easy spot to store the spikes when done
I got this for my sons occupational therapy sessions. It is really sturdy and I love that you can store the spines in the body of the toy. Now I don't have to worry about losing pieces of it when I put it away. The spines go into a rectangular slot and you have to push a bit to get them to go in (you might need to do some hand over hand at first). It is pretty nice for kids who have mastered a shape sorter. They have colors and numbers on them so that's fun to point out during lessons.
My kids have really enjoyed this toy. My 21 month old enjoys putting the pieces in and out. For my 4 year old I use it for his preschooling. Sometimes I ask him to out the numbers in order, other times I will ask him to show me a specific pattern with the pieces. It's been a good educational toy and I love how it has storage for all of the pieces inside.
