My baby will be 5 months in a week and she was a preemie. She weighs 14lbs and still wears 0-3 months. She loves this toy since she mastered using both hands. She picks it up with no problem and like all her toys drops it and needs some mommy assistance. She plays with it in her car seat, swing and laying around on her toddler mattress on my living room floor. So for the moms who hesitate or put off this toy because of the many reviews that say it's to big, I say it depends on the kid. If your baby is developing at a normal rate or faster this toy is great from 4 months on because it's bright, has many textures, makes noise and has lots of bumps to help with grabbing it. I added pictures to help show how well she handles it! It being so big I feel help her hold on to it longer and also to pick it back up because she can see it next to her causing her to reach for it.
Baby loves it!! She’s learned to use her arms to move it. She hasn’t quite figured out how to grab it with her hands but she’s made great progress in the last few days since we started playing with the developmental ball. The only thing I don’t like is that you can’t submerge it in water, so I can’t just throw it in the washer to clean it.
Grabbed this on prime day toy for my 3 month old. The second I took it out of the box he was watching my every move. After wiping it down, and giving it to him he hasn’t put it down. It’s easy for him to rotate, move from hand to hand, pick up using his whole body, it stimulates his brain with the noise/colors/patterns. His eyes follow when I move it left to right, it rattles when he shakes it, and exceeds my expectations as a $10 toy. While he does put the colored fabric “nubs” in his mouth- I wouldn’t consider it a teether since it’s 90% fabric. I’m definitely adding this to all future baby gift baskets for friends.
Such a classic toy for older babies! We introduced this toy too early and it was a little bit of sensory overload for our newborn. Now that the baby is learning to crawl and grasp better, it's just right! Remember to try toys again on your kids at different times and only one toy at a time. You never know what might work. This is labeled as a toy for a 6 month old so it was my bad. To encourage crawling I put this right out of reach. Because of the bumps, it will never roll away too far and might be encouraging for your baby to keep trying to "get it".
Very cute ball! I love that every part is different. It keeps baby occupied, and it's very colorful! It's a bit big for an infant's hands, but my daughter is 4 months now, so I think in the next month, she'll be able to get a good grip of it! I love Sassy's toys, and this one has sold me just like the many other toys we have of their brand. I did see reviews of stitching problems, but ours is fine, so I think that one was probably just a defective one, don't let that steer you away from ordering it, because it almost did for me, but I decided to order it anyway and to my surprise, it was in great shape!
