Grandson is in a Stem/Steam after school program. He took this kit to it and the Science teacher whom sponsors the program said it was one of the best kits he had seen on the market. All the kids in the program spent time creating little creatures. They had a blast so this kit was a huge hit.
As much as I wish I could say these are not worth it due to how ridiculous the price point is, I can’t. When I first got this and me and my kids opened it up immediately I was like $180 for this?!?! That’s insane! However my kids have played with these basically every single day for the last 4 weeks. The only time they haven’t is when we were not home, though they did bring it to our families Christmas party to play with the other kids and it kept them occupied for nearly a full 2 hours. The set doesn’t look like a lot, but it’s very good quality. Everything is solidly made and built to last. And the sky is the limit in terms of what you can create with this set. It’s pricy, but if your kids like to build then they will likely love these!
My kiddo is five and we're teaching her dexterity and fine motor skills. This has been a delight so far! These little pieces help little hands get into the fine motor skills side of things. It's building and twisting upon screwing. There are instructions to help visualize what your kiddo needs to do. The tool that comes with is great for little hands to hold. They make it wide and easy to grip. I ended up bringing out my little PC tool set and I think it's preferred over the included.Another great thing about this is, you don't have to follow instructions. Kids can eventually build whatever they want. This has been such an interesting find so far. Just make sure parts don't go missing.
My son is 6 and loves to build anything and everything. This kit is great! He has built so many cool things. There are so many pieces so be sure to keep them all together or you’ll be stepping on screw ends and plastic pieces. The case is REALLY nice! My son is able to open and close it himself which is a win!You can go on their website and they have a TON of ideas for you to do. My son loves seeing what everyone else builds on the website and tries to mimic it.
My sister and I both homeschool our children (we have 4 each) we love stem resources and this one is so much fun. Our husbands complained it’s just a bunch of nuts and bolts that are 2 cents each but the entire set up is so awesome. The kids have a blast building them. Even our toddlers are able to build the bots and can do so independently for the most part. Plus the website with challenges, sharing pictures of your creations with the offbits community. this is an awesome idea and creates so much fun and interest. It comes with a cute picture background for the boys to be placed in. We plan to get all of the kits available. This is perfect for homeschoolers, co-ops, public schools, stem clubs, or just to do at home. Makes a super fun gift that also promotes learning. Absolutely genius idea. Our husbands only look at the parts, not the case it all comes in, the website and how fun it makes problem solving and creative thinking etc. this is more than worth the price. Our kids range in age from 3-15 and they’ve all enjoyed making these.
