Highlights
Kids will learn about how polluted water can be purified using the Water STEM Purifier System. There is so much to learn here that kids will become moderately knowledgeable about the process of desalination after they learn how sea water can have its salt contents extracted. The filter system can be filled with filter paper, active carbon sand, and rocks to begin the desalination process. Kids will develop a passion for water purification and begin thinking of out future.
Information
Our SmartKidsPlanet initiative began in 2017 when 3 geeky and dedicated parents saw a gap in the children’s toys and games market. An opportunity was spotted while we struggled to find toys and games for our kids which enriched their minds and guided them toward science, art, math and construction. The trio then knew that their paths were set, establishing an online shop with a comprehensive range of intelligent toys for babies, children and young teenagers.
With offices based in California, our SmartKidsPlanet team enjoys a daily growth in our presence within the children’s educational toys market. We love our new place in life, and we love helping young minds with their growth and skill development, all while having as much fun as possible.
This has been the best science kit I have gotten for my 6 year old son. He thoroughly enjoyed all experiments and he really learned about it. For the water filtration experiment, there were extra items where we can redo the experiment. The instructions were easy to follow, and the explanations were great. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.
My granddaughter liked this a lot. She also hadn't known there were people in the world who have no clean water nearby. She does now, and knows that water can be had in various ways, but those ways don't always expand into large amounts of water. Anyway, she enjoyed it, and I enjoyed watching her learn!
This is an awesome kit, very easy to use, nothing extra to buy, just add dirt to the water and see it dripping clean at the bottom of the purification station! The child was able to assemble it on her own with only adult supervision! Simple idea but it works to visualize the process on which water gets filtered clean. Not too messy if you cut open the pouches containing the carbon filter carefully!
My 5th grade daughter enjoyed the easy water experiments in this set. She used them as a basic introduction from which to delve into further research. This was the 2nd set we bought, however, as the first one we purchased several years ago (and just recently got around to opening) was missing two baggies of materials.
We have tested this product with both the suggested dirty water and water colored with food coloring and it worked on both cases. It should be noted however that the filtering materials are vert small quantities, so using a big amount of water dirt or colors will make it less efficient faster. I would suggest to do the test with small amounts, I think 5 ml is more the enough to demonstrate the principle. For the dyed water I ended up using only 2 ml.
