Living Room Science Kit

I purchased this set about a month ago to teach my 4 year old son about magnetism. The recommended age is 5+, but based on my sons maturity level and interest in science we decided to give it a shot. The set comes with a good variety of magnets and a page with some ideas of how to use them. My son loves it! I also have a 2 year old daughter who quickly became obsessed with the set and asks to play with it almost daily. We have tried some of the ideas the kit comes with, and added in a few of our own experiments. The entire set has held up to both kids playing with it and they have had a blast learning about magnetism!

My children love the Magnetic Movers! Keeps them engaged for long periods of time and prompts authentic curiosity and questions. Excellent tool for hands on learning.

I dont know who was more excited about trying this out: my son or myself! I like that the kit came with different ideas to try with the magnets and even a craft idea to make a game. My son liked playing with it the way it was suggested and also going around our house searching for metal or “gold” as he said. I played around with this set and showed a few different things to do. My six year old and one year old both liked watching and playing. This kit is fun AND educational. Perfect combination. I tried this out for free thanks to Brilliant Minds and Learning Resources.

Three hand held magnets, 30 coloured counters, two rings, two balls, a plastic post and a length of string are all you need to leave young ones wide-eyed in amazement as you perform a host of ‘magic tricks’. There are 10 scientific research projects included on a sheet for activating the minds of the curious through science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), and it’s something that will develop cause and effect, observation and thinking skills.The thing with this set is that it isn’t constricted to what is in the box; there are endless uses for the magnets, including cheating at tiddlywinks. Put a magnet in the tub and make sure you use the counters here as your ‘winks’, but don’t employ one as your ‘squidger’. The other thing that will leave even the most cynical four year old agog is making the two rings on the post float.

I purchased this item the end of 2020 I believe (I have used Amazon for all household purchases since COVID so I don’t honestly remember exactly when I purchase every item 😂)I like to make sure we take our time when writing reviews on purchase’s especially if it is something we have not had before or a new brand we are trying out. I will say that this was one of the first items I purchased from Learning Resources and since we have purchased probably 25 additional items because we love the brand so much!! 💖 I am please with what we get for the price that we pay, but I also am not expecting professional grade magnets or items that will never break aka I don’t have otherworldly expectations. I began homeschooling my son this last year and we have truly enjoyed all of the items we have purchased fromThis company so far including this one.My son loves using different magnets included as well as ones we have around the house to see how strong or weak each one is.Defiantly worth the money and I would recommend anyone buy from Learning Resources with young childre!
