Everybody Loves Chess Set

What a great way to learn how to play chess! My my kids are all enjoying this game, especially my six and ten year old. They can finally play that “really complicated” game that they have watched their older brothers play. The older kids can play with the younger ones with out it being too tedious. The really neat thing is that they can start playing right away and learn how the different pieces move with out the overwhelm of trying to learn strategy as well. The two different ways to play is really genius! This game is quickly becoming a family favorite! My kids have also appreciated the larger size of the board and chess pieces. This is a great concept and a nice set, well worth the price.

Love this chess game! This is a quality product, well made, all wood, nice size. Good instructions and helps young children to start learning how to play chess. This helps them to think ahead and plan. Chess is a tool that teaches kids to think critically.

This is a good quality set for the price whether you use it for standard chess or family chess. The board and wooden pieces are similar in quality to folding wooden chess sets sold at similar prices. The added bonus of family chess really doesn't cost any more.

I've found family chess to be great for playing with my kids. My son, who is 8, has played some regular chess before, but would often get flustered with choosing his moves halfway through the game. The random dice which chooses the piece you will move helps alleviate some of the burden of choice and adds some chance to the game that can even make it more fun for adults who don't want their ego tarnished by a skills only game. Check and checkmate are removed from the game and winning is done by capturing the king. This makes it easier for teaching youngsters. My five year old daughter is starting to play thanks to family chess.

I was looking for a game to give the kids in Children's Church to help keep them busy while being home during the stay at home orders. This looked great, but after reading some of the reviews I was a bit concerned. So I purchased just one to start with and was delightfully surprised. This is truly a game for all ages. The tokens are easy to hang on to whether hands are small or arthritic. Having two different versions allows young beginners to play as well. The quick reference cards are great help for beginners and rusty players. All pieces are easily stored in the board that folds into a latched box. Love it. Bought 3 more sets.
