The Baby Bears Counting Therapy

My 4 year old really enjoyed playing with the bear counters, and the cards, and figuring out which bears come next in the sequence. The only problem, small that it is, is that I purchased the scales not paying enough attention that these cards have sequences that use the entire "3 Bear Family..." Of course, the baby bears are all the same size, so I made my way back to Amazon's website and purchased the 3 Bear Family counters (with the inclusion of Mommy Bear and Daddy Bear...) I was disappointed at first to realize that we couldn't do all of the cards when they arrived, but I am really happy that they do include size differences on the cards. It adds another level for them to grow into. This really encourages her to think, and introduces patterns and sequences in a really nice, fun way. She loves them, and I love that we both get to work together with them.

These look great. My 3yo was excited to see “all the bears!” 6 colors-purple, blue, green, orange, red and yellow. Each color came in 3 sizes-4 large bears, 4 medium and 8 small. I read some reviews saying that the orange and red bears were difficult to differentiate but I didn’t notice this at all. We haven’t used these a lot since we just got them but the short time we did, my 3yo really enjoyed them. I’ll update my review after further use.

These little bears feel great in your hand. I don't know why. They're not squishy or anything but they just have the right weight to them, if that makes any sense. I gave my toddler a handful for the first time the other day, wondering how he would respond. He LOVES them. Apparently they feel good in his hand too. He and I are both very "sensory" (he is diagnosed with sensory processing disorder, and I imagine I would be too if I had been born now instead of in the dark ages before SPD was a thing). So far we've used them playing with cars and trucks, in the water table (turns out they float!), in the wading pool, and for practicing number and color recognition. They have infinite uses in play. They're just really great all around. And if you lose one - or five - it's no biggie because there's literally a tub of them.

I bought these bears as a teaching aid. I thought they were all the same size. Now I am glad they aren't. My girls love them (ages 3 years and 18 months). The different sizes give me even more uses for teaching. I would highly recommend this tub of bears. Bonus activity ideas on the back of the label!

I used those little bears as tokens for training my son to poop in the toilet. He could pick one little, medium or big bear whenever he did so. As you can imagine, he had a growing collection until he felt he did not need those bears anymore. Now that they do not serve as tokens anymore, I use it with both of my sons to sort size and colours, reproduce patterns and count.
